Best way to step down from being a servant

hey i'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.. i have served as an ms for a number of years, but can't do it anymore.

i know too much i want to fade in the future when i get some family things straightened out.

i can't move right now so that's out unfortunately.. what should i tell the body?

Ray, that is certainly good news. But don't think you are in the clear. I'm sure that per WTBS standard, they are going to want to get together with you for some "sheperding."

I had one just before I was "deleted" and one recently. On the latest one, I was honest in just saying that I was tired of the double standards and the politics that I saw often, even at Bethel, and especially as an "appointed man." And I also added that at this time I have no interest in ever serving again.

The elders that talked to me are actually "close friends" (conditional) so I felt comfortable admitting this. But I WILL NOT speak of doctorine.

The main thing they wanted to "encourage" me on was meeting attendance. I've missed my share of meetings, but have also attended a different hall in support of my wife.

They tried to also give me the line on "how much potential I have" and "how they could really use me." I basically told them it's a little late for that and they said they respected my decision.

We'll see what happens. My point is that if you were viewed as someone with potential, you WILL still be on their radar. Tread carefully. It's not over yet. That nice little voicemail is not an indicator of the future. But again, great news.

Went to an internet business convention back in April...was I being recruited to join another cult??

i went to this business convention with my friend lynnette back in april of this year here in milwaukee...and boy oh boy did it remind me of a jehovah's witness convention.

except they didnt have a lock stock and barrel legalistic approach like the j-dubs have, but bascially same messaging in a different kinda of way.

they clapped, but they actually yelled at the speaker on the stage (basically picture the arensio hall show x1000...lol) woo-hoo!!

Ever heard of Primerica? Their products, things like life and car insurance as well as financial future planning assistance, are great.

But they got me in during a time that I was looking for extra work. They encouraged coming to their meetings for "education". I said that that was all I wanted. But slowly they started to try to suck me into doing certain activities to "build my business". I stated that that wasn't my interest.

I started to get a weird feeling everytime I went. At the time though, it was because I was worried about too much association with the world, as they had regular conventions to encourage people.

Anyway, I stopped going once they called my name to receive an award at one of the meetings. For what, since I hadn't done anything? Apparently, based on the award, I had completed something like 6 financial summaries (or whatever it was called) with different people. My "mentor" lied and told the lady in charge that I had done this. I knew right away I had to get out of there.

But I did learn one great line during a showing of a motivational business video. The lady said, 'Prayer is good, but prayer with a check is better.'

Ain't dat da troof, sista!! That's what religion is all about.

Perhaps indirectly I was already aware of cult tactics. Thanks be to the JW upbringing.

BTW, Maze, I feel honored that you would acknowledge my copy and paste of picture responses. I learned from the best, namely you.

But what I highlighted below in orange also bears a response.

75 percent of my family are Jehovah's Witnesses Crisis of Conscience. Five elders and numerous baptized publishers. I don't have “apostate connections...” I don't need them. I looked at how trashy the people looked in those Apostafests & Get-togethers photos appeared. Thanx, but no thanx. Even if I devieated from the Truth I'd find friends elsewhere.

What would they think if they were aware of your regular association with apostates online? Might they still communicate with you? Or have they already accepted the fact that you are 'off your rocker' so it no longer matters to them what you do?

The connections, a.k.a. friends, are in YOUR head.

Oh, and you don't have to prove anything to me about who you "know" or "have" in your family that "is a witness". I'm nobody.

But ........ I don't even believe you as far as I could throw you (assuming you are an average weight). At least not with all the lies you have written here and your crazy alias creations.

But at least the people in your head are proud of you.
